Public Outreach

We place a high value on the community contributions to this project. We encourage you to learn about the project background and upcoming steps, consider the alternatives and provide us with focused feedback.

Public input has already made a difference in the alternatives being studied and will continue to shape it as we move forward with this EA. View this document to learn of the public outreach conducted for the Arapahoe Road Corridor Study.

We look forward to hearing from you or seeing you at an upcoming public meeting event!

Public Meeting #1 - April 15, 2010

The first public meeting was held Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. Exhibits were posted in an open house format to review project background and alternatives previously considered, other improvement options recently suggested, EA methods and schedule, draft Purpose & Need and evaluation criteria for improvements. Approximately 230 people attended the meeting. Links to all wall graphics and handout materials from the meeting are listed below. To view a summary of public comments, click here.

Meeting attendees were asked to use stickers to identify their home and work locations, to assist the project team in determining if residents in the area were well represented, and also to get an idea of where nearby residents travel to for employment (see the "Where Do You Live and Work" graphic below).

A Citizen’s Guide to the NEPA - Having Your Voice Heard

This project is being conducted following the guidelines of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Click here to review "A Citizen's Guide to the NEPA - Having Your Voice Heard". This document was developed by the federal government to provide citizens with an overview of the NEPA process. Since NEPA applies to a very wide range of federal actions, this document does not exclusively focus on transportation projects. However, it describes how the environmental review process under NEPA provides an opportunity for you to be involved in the federal agency decision-making process.
